Nailfolio Community Safety
This page explains how we keep Nailfolio a safe place for stylists and clients, and how to report content that breaks the rules.
This page meets our obligations under the GDPR and the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
1. What content is prohibited?
We prohibit the following types of content in the Nailfolio app. The list applies to galleries, sessions and all description fields:
- Illegal contentMaterial that breaks the law (violence, hate speech, third-party personal data shared without consent).
- Image rights violationsPhotos of people (a face, or any detail that could identify them) without the clear consent of those shown.
- Copyright infringementThird-party works, trademarks, or designs displayed without the author's permission.
- Spam and commercial contentAdvertisements, affiliate links, or service offers unrelated to nail styling.
- Offensive contentVulgar, discriminatory, shocking, or otherwise harmful material for the community.
- Misleading contentFalse information about products, techniques, or the safety of treatments.

2. How do I report content?
Any logged-in user can report a photo from another stylist's gallery. It takes less than a minute:
- Open the photo in the galleryGo to the single-photo view (by clicking the thumbnail or the stylist's card).
- Click "Report photo"The button is located below the actions in preview mode. Available for logged-in users.
- Select a reason and submitPick the problem category and optionally add a short note. We'll handle the rest.
To prevent abuse, each user may submit a maximum of 5 reports per hour. Multiple reports of the same photo are treated as duplicates.
3. What happens after a report?
Once your report is sent, our moderation team starts the standard review:
- The report reaches our moderation team within a few minutes.
- We review the reported content against Nailfolio's terms and applicable law (EU and Poland).
- Within 48 hours we make a decision: warning, hiding, removal, or keeping the content.
- The reporter (if they gave an email address) and the content's author are notified of the decision by email.
For serious violations we may hide the content immediately and conduct a full review afterwards. Repeated violations result in warnings, account restrictions, or account suspension.
4. Appealing a decision
If you disagree with a moderator's decision, whether you are the reporter or the content author, you have the right to appeal.
Write to us at support@nailfolio.app within 14 days of receiving the decision. Please include the photo ID (if you know it), the date of the decision, and a brief explanation.
In accordance with the EU Digital Services Act, we will review the appeal within 14 business days and send a reasoned response to the email address provided in the appeal.
