Fresha vs Booksy is a useful comparison when you want online booking and marketplace discovery. There is no single worldwide price or fee model to compare: both localize their plans, payment terms and marketplace rules.
Disclosure: I work on Nailfolio, mentioned near the end as a portfolio tool, not as a Fresha or Booksy replacement. I checked the vendors' public pricing and fee pages on 30 October 2026. Open the country-specific pages before making a decision.
The short answer
- Compare subscription by team size. Booksy publishes a local subscription and may price extra team members separately. Fresha's plans are priced per bookable team member.
- Check how each app attributes new clients. Booksy's optional Boost terms differ by market. Fresha charges a one-time Marketplace new-client fee when its rules identify a client as coming from that marketplace.
- Look at your regulars too. If most clients already know you, compare calendar usability, client records and payment processing, not only marketplace reach.
- Portfolio filters are a separate choice. Test whether each profile lets clients browse designs by the attributes you use.

| Subscription | Country-specific plan; team terms vary | Priced by bookable team member |

| Returning clients | Check local Boost rules | No Marketplace new-client fee on returning clients |

Compare the total cost in your country
Booksy's local price page lists the subscription and any extra-user terms. Its marketplace terms can differ as well: for example, Booksy's current German pricing page says it does not charge commissions or booking fees for new clients, while its UK pricing page describes an optional Boost commission for clients brought through Boost. See Booksy Germany and Booksy UK.
Fresha prices plans by bookable team member. Its Marketplace fee is a one-time charge for an eligible new client; returning clients are not charged. The fee is based on the first appointment and Fresha uses client-source history to determine whether Marketplace discovery applies. A client who later books through another channel may still be attributed to the Marketplace if that is where they first found you. Read Fresha's localized pricing and official fee rules.
Do not compare only a headline monthly subscription. Add the cost of extra team members, payment processing, message allowances and the number of new clients you expect from the marketplace.
Booking, payments and no-shows
Both services provide online booking and client-management features. Their payment methods, processing costs, reminders and cancellation settings vary by country and plan. Check how deposits or no-show fees work for your services and whether card payments are required for the protection you want.
If clients already book through your own link, also test the booking flow from a new client's phone. A price that looks lower will not help if the calendar, reminders or checkout add friction to your current process.
What about nail design portfolios?
Booksy and Fresha are booking platforms with profile photos and client records. If clients need to compare your work by color, length or style, test that path directly; a set of booking-profile photos is not necessarily a filterable nail gallery.
Nailfolio can sit beside either booking app:
- Your public profile shows selected pinned work. The full gallery becomes available after you accept a client's connection request.
- Clients can filter by color, length and tagged traits such as technique, finish, decoration and style.
- A connected client can send an Inspiration Session with selected photos and one note for the session. It remains available for 14 days.
- Your client card keeps notes, visit history and result photos private to you.
Nailfolio does not take bookings or send reminders. Client accounts are free; the stylist product is paid, with a limited Free Demo for trying it. See the current plans and limits. If you are considering leaving Booksy for another reason, compare the choices in Booksy alternatives for nail techs.
Is Fresha cheaper than Booksy?
It depends on your country, team size, payment method and Marketplace clients. Compare the current local plans and fees instead of applying a price from another market.
Do Booksy and Fresha charge for every booking?
The fee models are not the same. Booksy's Boost terms depend on market and acquisition source. Fresha describes a one-time fee for eligible new Marketplace clients, with no Marketplace new-client fee for return visits. Check the local terms for your account.
Which one is better for nail techs?
Choose the calendar and payment setup that fits your business. If discovery matters, compare how much a Marketplace client costs in your location. If clients struggle to choose a design, check portfolio filters separately from booking features.
Can clients browse my nail designs on Booksy or Fresha?
Both show profile photos, but you should test whether a client can filter those photos by the attributes that matter to your work. If you need a dedicated nail gallery, compare that workflow separately.
